COVID-19 Update 3/14

COVID-19 Update 3/14

UPDATE 3/14/20

Dear LvCC Friends and Families-

Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:6-7

God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble. Psalms 46:1

Amid the current world health crisis, I want us to be even more mindful of the scriptures and God’s word for us. The verses above remind us, God is in control and it is Him we should be seeking and leaning on, in all occasions. Please continue reading scripture, God’s promises, and praying for the world, country, state, and local leaders, as they discern the best actions concerning the spread and treatment of COVID-19.

For this weekend, Sunday, March 15th LvCC will…

  • Worship at 8:45 and 11 am.
  • Have hand sanitizer stations at the entryways into the church.
  • Broadcast our services via the church website and Facebook page at 1pm. (Update – we’ve run into some technical difficulties with posting video. Today’s sermon is available via audio under the sermon tab)
  • Adhere to “social distancing” practice of at least 6 feet.
  • Urge those in the “High Risk” category to stay home.
    • The “High Risk” category (according to Cowlitz County Health Department)
      • Those older than 60
      • Those who have serious chronic medical conditions, such as diabetes, heart disease and lung disease
      • Those who have weakened immune systems

To limit unnecessary contact between people on Sunday at LvCC…

  • We Will NOT pass an offering basket. People can place offerings in a basket in the lobby or give online by clicking here
  • We Will NOT have a coffee hour.
  • We Will NOT have Sunday school gatherings.
  • We Will NOT pick up homebound members with our van.
  • We Will NOT have choir lead us in 2nd Service.
  • We Will NOT have nursery or preschool available during the worship services.
  • We Will NOT have our Taize contemplative prayer service tomorrow in the evening.

After this Sunday, the staff and church leadership at LvCC will re-evaluate future worship services and gatherings of all sizes. We will also be planning ahead and preparing for how we may help those in our church community and the wider Longview/Cowlitz County communities. We will continue to keep you updated with any future changes.

May the Lord bless you and keep you. May the Lord smile upon you and be gracious unto you. May the Lord show His favor to you and give you peace.
