Awake My Soul: A 40-Day Prayer Challenge

Awake My Soul: A 40-Day Prayer Challenge On March 6 we begin the season of Lent. Lent is a season in the life of the church that marks the 40 days that lead up to Easter. Historically, Lent has been a time when many people return to the various practices of the Christian faith. We do this not as an obligation or as a means of earning God’s love. Instead, these practices are ways to focus on God, experience freedom…

Creating Space For God: Resources for the 40 day journey to Easter

The season of Lent begins on Ash Wednesday this week (February 14).  Lent marks a 40 day season of preparation that leads up to Easter.  Historically, this is a season that is focused on turning back to God and seeking spiritual renewal.  It is often a time where people prioritize the various practices of the spiritual life and set aside things that get in the way of following God. To facilitate this 40 day journey we have put together a…

Daily Scripture Meditation Summer 2017

This summer we will be preaching on Jesus’ invitation to live a life of abundance (John 10:10). To help you go deeper we have provided a daily reading schedule that leads you through the gospel of John. We chose this gospel because the theme of “life” shows up 47 different times.  John envisions salvation to be more than just forgiveness.  We are not just saved from something we are saved to something. Jesus came that we may experience new life. We’ve…

Lent Guide 2015

To download this Lent Preparation Guide click here: Lent Guide 2015 One of the things I appreciate about the church year is that it gives us regular re-entrance points to the life of faith. We have a tendency to lose momentum, get distracted, or simply drift away from God. Since this seems to be part of our human condition it is helpful for us to have seasons where we can refocus and start fresh. Tomorrow we begin the season of…
