Dr.
John Williams became the sixth senior pastor for The Longview Community
Church in the Fall of 2003. Dr. Williams came to us
from the Congregational Presbyterian Church in Lewiston, Idaho,
where he was the senior pastor for sixteen years. He earned his
Doctor of Ministry from the San Francisco Theological Seminary where
he wrote a thesis paper on "spiritual formation in the local
church.” His Master of Divinity was awarded in 1979 from Princeton
Theological Seminary where he majored in pastoral care and counseling.
He was ordained by the Santa Barbara Presbytery in 1979. Dr. Williams
graduated from Whitworth College in 1974 with a major in psychology.
Dr.
William’s wife, Denise, has been extremely active as a Bible
study leader, youth ministry volunteer and active with the elderly
as an integral part of their ministry. Their two daughters, Meghan
and Marissa, attend Whitworth College. |
